We've tried to replicate this issue on our own Apple Telly/iTunes purchases, only sound works across all applications in our testing.

The event, reported yesterday (Aug. 1) by 9to5Mac, has evidently been happening since mid-July, and has affected non just Apple tree TVs, only Roku devices too.
